Complete the Arizona classroom and range requirements for armed security guard certification.
This two-day course certifies eligible students to carry a firearm as an armed security guard after successful completion. Instruction covers escalation and de-escalation of force and the circumstances in which deadly physical force is legally justified.
The course does not teach students how to shoot. Participants are expected to have prior firearm handling and shooting experience, though basic instructions are provided.
Students must complete both written and shooting proficiency requirements.
Students must bring a standard duty-type revolver or semi-automatic pistol, a holster, and at least two magazines or speed loaders. Rentals may be available.
Ammunition, weapons, and range fees are not included in the course price. A minimum of 200 rounds is used during the course, and the current range fee is $25.
The classroom and range sessions are both required.

If you cannot attend your scheduled range day, notify the office by 5:00 p.m. the day before to avoid a $25 rescheduling fee. Beginning January 1, 2024, the program limits each student to two reschedules.

Refund policy: If you cannot attend your assigned class, Arizona Guard Cards will reschedule you for the next available class. If you miss the rescheduled class, you are not eligible for a second reschedule and must pay full price. No refunds are available without 48 hours' notice, and no refunds are available once any online class is accessed.
